AWARDED 8 LICENSES IN APA 2011 (17 JANUARY)

As announced by the Norwegian Ministry of Petroleum and Energy on 17 January 2012, Spring Energy has been awarded 8 licenses in the APA 2011 Round, including 1 license as operator and 2 firm wells. The operated license is located in the Norwegian Sea.

Spring Energy is very pleased with the award, and this is another important step forward in the growth of the Company.

Following this award, Spring Energy now holds a total of 32 licenses on the NCS, 3 as operator.

Spring Energy is an independent, upstream oil and gas company focused on the Norwegian Continental Shelf.

Founded in late 2007, the Company has, through license applications, farm-in transactions, acquisitions and swaps, built a considerable portfolio of exploration and appraisal assets. The Company's portfolio provides a balanced spread of risk and reward, encompassing 32 licenses, including 3 as operator and one producing field. It has a small highly experienced technical and commercial team based in Oslo.
